I just saw on here:http://www.believeinbristol.org/ a snippet about Burger Bar and a link to face book for more info, but it said:

"From Ben and Debra Zandi, Troutdale Kitchens. We are so excited and honored to let you know that we are the proud new owners of the Burger Bar. To carry on this landmarks traditions, continue to provide fun memories, and revive a fabulous downtown business is an honor!!"

We went only once to the Burger Bar, and that was a couple of years ago. We always planned to return but just never did. I hope they have great success with the place. : )

That's good news. Have only been once myself, thought it was pretty tasty and very reasonable. I'd go back again.
But I think it wouldn't hurt them to freshen the place up, maybe with a new coat of paint or something.

Troutdale...the 4 star gourmet restaurant...who also ran the restaurant at the Ridgefield's County club, (that is now defunct and up for auction)....is gonna run the Burger Bar hole in the wall place??? Something doesn't sound right. Or is it just me?
Not saying this is a bad thing at all! Just weird to me.

They also own the Troutdale Bistro on State Street. They opened it up and then they had a fire. They rebuilt it. It is right past First Tennessee Bank on State Street. We have not been yet, but they seem to do a fairly good business.

Downtown Bristol has improved a bunch since we moved here in 2004. If you haven't been lately, I suggest you visit : ) There are some really neat new shops, a few art galleries, a make your own ceramic place, an art gallery where you can take classes and some nice restaurants. I highly recommend the Italian Nachos at Machiavellis.

a new post on the "believe in bristol" facebook page states..

The Burger Bar will continue to have Burger's etc. Price menu will be from low to moderate and they will be open for dinner!

I am glad to hear that. I checked out the menu for the Troutdale Bistro and I don't think it would be everyone's cup of tea. However, we sure can use a good/affordable burger place.

I'd call this the best possible outcome. The Zandis are successful restaurateurs, are fans and customers of the original concept, and want to operate this iconic location for the next half century. With some upgrades, the Burger Bar is the type of Dive that could bring Guy Fieri to town. It would be awesome if he could hit Ridgewood, Purple Cow, and the Burger Bar for one of his shows.
