This is a small, out-of-the-way operation open for lunch or early dinner, (probably closes at 7) but a good place for reasonably priced "real food."

If you are on Merchants and take Central Ave. Pike past Cracker Barrel (headed South) this will be on the left just past Inskip in a insignificant looking bldg.
That place is loooooonnnnnngggg gone. It had some of the best, if not THE best bbq I have ever had but it was run and cooked by a New Yorker, so I neer said anything.

It is now called The Red Basket. Looks like another New Yorker. I heard him talking in Ingle's quite awhile back. The hours on the door are until 3 p.m. and it is only open Monday through Friday. I don't know what kind of food or anything. I haven't been inside.

I know. I really loved that place. That guy was out everyday smoking his meats. I use to be able to eat fabulous bbq while reading The New Yorker. I guess I probably should have shared and told people. I hate to see people go under. I can relate to being a small business and what you are up against.

I will have to remember to get over to see the new owner. With those hours it is going to be easy to forget. For instance, I'm thinking of it now, but it won't be open until Monday!
