The on private school I know of that is not connected with a church is Webb. It is very good.

There are a couple of Catholic schools and my grandson goes to Christian Academy of Knoxville. There are others, but I am not as familiar with them. Good luck in your search.

Webb is definitely an excellent school.

While I'm sure CAK has a fine academic program, I would have a problem sending my kids to a school that gleefully denies admission to students from certain religious backgrounds.

Compared to Memphis, Nashville and Chattanooga, Knoxville doesn't have very many private schools. I think that speaks well of Knoxville's public schools.

As a professor at the local public university, I can tell you that my students who were educated in Knox County public schools are VERY well prepared for the rigors of college education, and that goes for EVERY high school in Knox County. I can't say the same for some of the more rural counties in the area.
