We will competing in World Horseshoe Tourney in Knoxville this summer and would like to be parked as close as possible to the venue. We were told Blackstock was the closest overnite parking but are not sure if it is a safe area. Thanks!!!

Are you not staying in a hotel?

I assume she is talking about RV parking. It's not the sort of place where you'd want to park by yourself but for an event there will be safety in numbers. Knoxville is not that dangerous of a place. Most of the crime is between friends and family.

Depending on the night, you may hear some partying from nearby bars and concert venues...but for the most part, it's ok, if you can tolerate the occasional skaters and panhandlers. The location is a short walk to the World's Fair Park, but it's kind of isolated from other downtown attractions. Are you towing a vehicle for local transportation?

It's a short walk for the homeless, just to clarify - they hang out on Broadway by the Salvation Army and under the highway underpasses.
