Does anyone has any recommendation for a good and honest car mechanic in the west knox/oak ridge/clinton area. I am trying to find a good and honest mechanic (is there one really?) so that I can take my car for regular repairs and such. I have not found one yet and thought you would have recommendations that I can follow.

Just like the good old lawyer joke....

I am the wife of an honest mechanic. Sad to say, he is not in the area you are looking. Perhaps you could share what type of vehicle, etc. Probably help us help you find something a bit better.

You can always go to the dealership too. Yes, labor rate is high, but they guarantee their work.

Good luck.

I used to own an auto repair shop in town. I now take my car to All-In-One Automotive. They have five locations, are good, reputable, honest. It's a local chain but he started just like anyone else, one shop, but did great work at a decent price and he's grown. I do NOT personally know him. When I needed machine work, I used to take it up to the location on Callahan and I remembered them. The guy that did the work, Johnny, treated us well. Now that I'm divorced, it is the only place I trust. I usually go to the West Knoxville location. It's across the street from Costco, right at the Farragut line.

By the way, I get my tires at Sears. They have great prices and I can get in and out, quickly. All In One can't beat their prices for tires.

You want to go see Dan at Dans Auto Service on Oakridge Hwy.

Fast efficient service at great prices. Guarantees the work of course. I've tried a few different shops in the area and Dan consistently does the best work for the lowest price.

My experience with All In One was not so good. I had the car in for an oil change and asked them to give me a quote on two problems. They misdiagnosed both and had they then done those repairs, my out of pocket for their fixes would have been apprx. $500 more then it took to actually make the correct repairs.

I'm a bit late, but if you're still looking, I had a great experience with Trans Tech in Oak Ridge:

Address: 110 Midway Ln, Oak Ridge, TN 37830
Phone:(865) 482-6880

Honest and reasonably-priced. The owner also doesn't mind questions (I found some of the dealerships got quite irritable when I posed follow-ups to their various diagnoses).

Thank you all for your responses.
Few friends also recommended countryside tire and auto service in oak ridge. I think I have few recommendations to go and check them out personally now, thanks all.
