Family arriving before moving shipment!? (Knoxville: renting, mattress, house)

We have a house we rented in Knoxville that we will be occupying on June 1. We are relocating from Colorado and fly in June 1 as well.
My moving company had a hitch and my items won't be arriving for 3-10 days. I have a 6 year old and a 18 month old. We have a great house but nothing in it. All we need to accomplish is cooking, bathing, and sleeping. I do not want to spend a ton on temp household items due to the crazy expensive move. Any ideas for ways to do this cheaply?

We used blow up mattress to sleep on. Your 6 year old might think it's fun to sleep on a pool float. A cheap pan/pot, etc... from discount store or even local goodwill/thrift shop. You could also donate bake after using.

For food I'd bite the bullet and get paper plates and such. Keep it simple with sandwiches. If you need to cook anything for the kids, I'd got with the goodwill pots and pans ( as previosly mentioned ).

If you've thought about taking the kids camping and don't have a tent, this would be a good excuse to get some sleeping bags.

Go to Goodwill or KAARM and buy stuff you may need to get by, then take it back and donate it when you are done. You can think of it as renting stuff, then get a tax deduction for your donation.
Go buy sleeping bags and some towels and make do for a few days.

Great advice here and don't forget the slow cooker. It's fantastic for creating great dinners on a shoestring! You can usually pick one of those up also at a thrift store. Best of luck to you!
