Wow! I cannot thank all of you enough for your help. I hope I can be of help to you some day. I'm wondering if there are any Pittsburgh transplants in the area? Or if Knoxville is a destination for Pittsburghers. It seems it is for california.

Two Fresh Markets? I've only found one, the one that's listed on the site. It'd be nice if there were one closer to me!

I found an opening at Sysco for a chef, then when you sent me the link it was no longer available. Bummer. I am still going to apply, seems like a great position. If contacted, I'll find a local sysco rep to try and help out if possible.

Good luck! Don't forget Earth Fare, either. It is very upscale. The pay may be very good.

Hmmm...I think of Food Lion as being on the bottom of the grocery store ladder. I can't imagine they pay well, but maybe they do.

I think of it kind of the same way-I know here in MD they pay lower than most of the other supermarkets around.

Good luck with your job search!!!!

Heading into Knoxville and Nashville in mid july to check out surrounding areas and what the great state of Tennessee has offer a transplant. Stopping into earthfare for a bit, there website looks great and they are doing a lot of what I am currently doing now. I will apply to other grocery chains while i'm in both towns to see if I fit into any posoitions that are not listed.

Hubby and I have both applied online w/ Food City on 2 different occasions and they never contact either one of us. Hope you have better luck. Supposedly the applications are spread amongst all the local stores.

I'm sure there are a number of people in Knoxville from the Pittsburgh area; I know one of them is on this forum.
