Thanks guys! Yeah, i went to Fountain City Creamery for lunch two days when we were here for her interview. Ddin't realize i should have been across the street at Littons for RVC.
I grew up just north of Brandon, little town called Seffner. But have lived in Brandon the past 11 years. Won't miss the strip malls and endless traffic.

As for me, i work for a consulting engineering firm. I design HVAC systems for commercial buildings. We specify the equipment, ductwork design, and on occasion oversee the installation. I have 14 years experiance. I do all my own drafting using AutoCad 2007 right now. I also can do some plumbing design. I am working on my LEED certification now. I have located a few firms in the area, and am in the process of brushing up my resume. I have worked for the same company for 12 years, so it's a little outdated.
Still, i am excited about the new opportunities moving to a new town offers!

Congratulations!! Keep us posted on how you like it when you move up there, handling the change, etc. I'm a born and raised Florida girl and I too am just dying to move to the Knoxville area. Hoping to be able to call it home someday. Good luck in your job search and congrats again to you and your girlfriend.

Thanks. Anyone have any input on some apartments? We are looking at Fox Lake, over on the west side of town, exit 373 i think.. Are they decent apartments? Decent neighborhood? I know we looked at apartments on that exit when we were up there, but it's was kind of a blur. I know it's near Cedar Bluff road.

I know the apartments. They are very nice. We live in the "sister" set of apartments, ones owned by the co owners. I think you would like it. Not far from interstate. Close to groceries and fast food. Library and hospital are also close.

GATOR FORD, GATOR FORD! Home of the good looking reptile!

Yeah, I don't miss that commercial. Sadly, it takes a while to get that out of your head.

We stay at Eagle Point off of Joe Hinton Road in the Cedar Bluff area. Thanks to Hiknapster for scoping it out for us, it turned out to be pretty decent. We rented a two bedroom apartment for $850.00/month. They have smaller units for less too. The applicances are old but the townhouse was very clean, with fresh paint, new light fixtures and ceiling fans and spotless cleaned carpets. They allow pets too. We brought three dogs with us.

I have been to Fox Lake as well, not inside the apartments, but through the neighborhood--it's in a decent area My hubby inquired about working there months ago.
