I lived right next to it at my last place, but never went into it. Is it worth it?

I think it was a niece ...for sure ...no I mean it ....really.

My buddy was a singer. He somehow found himself in "Lee's" suite at the hotel they both performed at. "Lee" offered to give him a "massage" he said. At that time it wasn't proven he was a girly man, so I asked my friend. He assured me it was true. My friend likes girls, so I assumed he turned down the offer and I never asked him what happened. Wish I had of. We are out of touch now.

Well, he did have a "culture" all his own, I must say. He might have been a bit gauche or a tad (?) over the top. But the man was an entertainer and an accomplished musician and one heck of a character.

How sad that he has been forgotten so quickly. Such is life, I am afraid. Push 'em out and make way for the next generations.

Generation WHY? Gads, I love it. A rep for that one. LOL

Here's the story. Liberace picked the location himself which back then was OK. Not far from where he lived. I think people just don't know who he was. Liberace Museum closes as cash flow played out - Living - ReviewJournal.com

Too bad. I went there twice, many years ago. Even very straight guys like me can appreciate his genius.

He may have been camp at times, but he had a passion for the music.

It's not scheduled to close until Oct. 17, so it isn't too late.

I went a few months ago and enjoyed it much more than I had thought I would. It's worth the time.

My wife pointed out something I hadn't thought of. You can turn on the radio and listen to music of other top performers of his era, but as far as we can remember, Liberace never had any big hit records that you would still hear today.

An interesting thing that a lot of people don't know is that Elvis and Liberace were admirers of each others work, and would send each other flowers after their shows.

Also, the Tivoli Gardens Restaurant is allegedly haunted, possibly by Liberace.

How much does it cost to get in?

He was an entertainer, he never really wrote music. They say there were hundreds of pianist better than he was but no better showman.

He was the king of bling!!!

He was Mr Showmanship!!!!

An absolute legend. When his show was here in town he was the highest paid entertainer in the world.

Sure his music does not transcend the generations. But the candelabra will always be iconic.

Very sad news that we are losing this treasure. If you've nto seen it go see it.

I'd also mention that the museum was totally a charity to pay for students in the arts. It was meant to be his legacy. He'd be very upset to know it was closing down.
