I'm referring to the base of the mountain. Aside from the graffiti laden concrete foundation sitting over by the south end, has anybody seen anything else that's ODD?

I climbed a bit to the North over by the big boarded up mansion and found a homeless camp up in a hidden canyon...I thought the place was deserted until I saw a sleeping pit bull in the mess and decided to get the hell out of there...

Lots of homeless go there to survive, it looks like...

Nothing sadder than seeing a grave a few yards to the south of the makeshift tent, either...but theres one up there. Covered up by a tarp with rocks overlooking the valley....Could be human, could be animal...could be drug stash!

Default Just what I'm looking for...

My brother lives North of Vegas near Sunrise. I keep an MTB out there and we go riding when I go out to visit him. We head southeast from his (former) house to Hollywood High School. Is that the name of it? That is sort of our "trailhead", and we head north and east on the rocks, sand, gravel, glass, carparts, furniture, housing materials, smashed electronics, etc.

There are a number of weird things that I've seen up there. There is a rock up there with a white-painted pyramid up in a notch. Near there is where I saw the homeless camp that I think you are talking about. There is a sign that says something like: Days up here - xxxxx, where each 'x' is a number that has been crossed out. It is constructed like a small altar, and has an old tin can sitting on a rock at the base of it. I visit that place every time I go out to visit my brother. I leave "offerings" of things I happen to be carrying in my Camelbak. I've left medical tape, a pen, a carbiner, and clif bars. Once I put a pen in the can I clipped my favorite green carabiner to it, and when I came back out the next day, the pen was gone, but the carabiner had been place on the rock, like I was not to clip the carabiner to the can. We went up later in the evening, and the carabiner was gone. On a different visit, I saw what I can only describe as a Tarahumara-looking guy perched on a rock about 100m away just watching me fuss over what to put in the can.

I love that place, but it freaks me out.

Please resond via PM about this.

I've hiked around hill and dale in that area. I live quite close to the areas that you describe. Yes, there are several people who make their home in the gulleys and caves around Frenchman's. I see them occasionally walking up the hill with a five-gallon jug of water.

I know the sign you're talking about. xxxxx days. Yeah, we have some hermits here in Sunrise.

Not "odd" but drive up Lake Mead, east, slightly past Frenchman's, and there's a dirt road on the right side of the road, heading south. Go there, and you can find little trilobite fossils in that area.

PS -- Fallout New Vegas is one of the best games ever made. I can't believe there are so few people here on the LV C-D forum who play it. It is a cracking good game. I like to drive around the area in real life and visit places from the game -- the Pioneer, Cottonwood Cove, Nipton. Hell, I've visited my house in the game. The area is infested with Fire Geckos.
