My family is coming to town for Christmas and I'd like to take them to a show. Any recommendations for a suitable show for 13-year old boy and his parents?

My boys, same age, loved Blue Man Group.

Blue Man Group, Lion King, and Mystere are the ones that immediately come to mind for being high quality and more suited towards families.

Penn & Teller is a great show. The only caveat for a 13 year old is that they use the word "Bu..Sh.." a couple of times (promoting their TV show).

I am sure the 13 year old would LOVE to see MGM Grand's Crazy Horse Paris
but the parents might object

Anything by Cirque except Zumanity.

I think your 13 year old would fall asleep at the Blue Man Group. I almost did and I'm in my 20's. Unless you enjoy drum based music, it will put you to sleep. You can only look at colorful splashing water and men with blue paint for so long if you don't enjoy their music.

My favorite show as a 10-15 year old was Mystere. I loved the acrobatics and costumes. Siegfried & Roy was another favorite of mine when I was young, but it stopped production awhile ago.

I'll cast my vote for Mystere, a great show but completely appropriate for families. It's never boring and pretty amazing!

I still have not seen blue man group because I've heard so many people say they were disappointed. If you are going to spend money definitely pick Mystere over Blue Man.
