Hi all!

I'm going to Vegas for a job interview next week, and between the flight and room, my money is a bit tight (kinda short notice on the trip!) so I don't think that renting a car is in the cards.

I Google mapped the route between where I'm staying (Planet Hollywood) and the interview site (behind Encore) and it said that the best route taking public transportation would be The Deuce. Ok, fine. Whatever.

THEN I Google mapped the route between Planet Hollywood and the apartment that I want to take a look at (on Las Vegas Blvd, south of the airport) and it said to take the SDX. Once again, whatever. Fine.

BUT, when I took a second look, they look like the same bus, on the same route, but with different names, so I'm confused.

I've been to Vegas many times, but always on vacation, so I could find my way around if I had to, but with a car and, preferably, GPS. I've never taken a bus before.

What's the difference between the Deuce and the SDX bus? Are the bus stops the same? Will I be able to tell them apart? I apologize if this has been covered before, but I searched and wasn't able to find anything.

And, if I haven't annoyed anyone too much, anyone know anything about the Diamond Sands apartments? They look fine on the surface, and apartmentratings.com hasn't yielded anything extraordinary, but real world experience would be awesome. If background is required, I'm a woman in my late 20s, divorced, no kids, the job would place me at around 50k/yr and I don't want to spend over 850/month but I would like for my car to be there when I wake up in the morning and I'd rather not be robbed while jogging.

TIA!

It is basically the same busses on the same route. They run express at some times and just busses at other. Go to CAT Las Vegas and figure it out. But it is no problem...just get on a deuce on the strip and ask the driver.

Desert Sands is a standard Las Vegas barracks apartment. The area is livable. You are unlikely to get mugged while jogging. The quality of life is driven by the management which is unknowable for one who does not live there. I would suspect you can do better. So if you get the job ask again where you should live. We don't think hard unless you are really coming here.

Thank you. I understand that with the barrage of questions that you are hit with on a regular basis, an interview doesn't really merit a response worthy of thinking hard, but it is a second interview, if that's any consolation. Thank you for your honesty.
