I'm relocating to the area on Sept. 15. We are renting a home in Henderson. I'm terrified of scorpions and these "desert cockroaches" that many people have mentioned to us as we were looking for homes (irrational fear of bugs and creepy crawly things, I know this sounds ridiculous). I'd like to have my house sprayed monthly. Can you recommend your reasonably priced professional exterminator? Thanks so much!

I use SWAT Bug Killers. Admittedly I did not shop around at all though. They were at my neighbors house one day and I got to talking with the guy and hired them on the spot.

I have not seen a nasty bug around my house since though.

Although spraying will really help, don't think this will totally eliminate the problem. With high winds and an occasional rainstorm, this can bring the bugs out and you might have to deal with them again.

Thanks for the recommendations
Packrat, thank you. I do know that spraying won't mean I'll never see bugs, but at least I can be proactive. We have our own bugs back home, but the scorpions and huge cockroaches are not "familiar" to me so I'm even more irrationally afraid.

I have yet to see a scorpion, and we have been here for over 13 years. I think they prefer one side of the valley over the other.
We get the giant field roaches in the hot months. Crickets(good luck charms), spiders of various types, ants, bee's, wasps, assorted regular harmless bugs like moths. And the only bugs that I use the Bug Bully for is the giant roaches, and black widows.

We have only two customer that have seen scorpions in Aliante in the past year. But have had several in North Las Vegas this year. You see more and more scorpions each year, due to the fact that as we were building the town out we were taking away their home, so they are slowly moving into different areas. Over the past years I have seen them all over town. But one property may have them and then a neighbor might not. Just because you do not have a problem with them now, does not mean you will never see them in the future.

You also have to remember that the weather plays a big part on what type of insects we have. We have had people this year that have said they have never seen a roach in all the years that they have lived here, but do to our weather this past month, have started seeing them. Most believe that if you have a roach it means they are dirty, but the majority of the roaches here are the normal outside roach. Now is you have them in your kitchen and bathrooms, and they are small, then you have something to worry about, lol.

I am familiar with those small roaches by the hundreds, I'm from NYC and I saw many an apartment with them (NONE of them mine, LOL). I will be living in the 89002 zip code. A friend of mine who lives farther in Henderson (Anthem) said she's seen one scorpion in the 4 years of living there. The first time I see one may be my last because I think I'd have a heart attack (need therapy, much? ha!).

Scorpions have been pretty bad the past couple of years, due to the warmer winters we have been having. Instead of hibernating they have been reproducing. Also with the heat and humidity this past month, we have noticed an increase in them the past couple of weeks.

Henderson can be hit and miss with them. But we do not have any homes that have them bad in that area, just some here and there.
