I was asked this question from a friend whose son (my cousin) is coming to get married here in Nov. this year.

She said there would be about 20 people, WITH some KIDS, and would like it moderately priced. She prefers Italian.

I don't eat on the Strip and I don't usually go to Italian restaurants as I prefer other types of food if I am going to spend the money on it.

Any suggestions?

With kids? If these kids are young it would probably be better to go to a buffet that has an Italian section.

Do you have a price per guest in mind? Otherwise I'd suggest B&B, Rao's and Il Mulino. For a wedding, I'd probably go with Rao's. It's basically impossible to get a table at Rao's New York. People buy their table for life, so you have to know one of the approximately 40 people who own a Rao's table to dine there. Rao's Las Vegas serves the same food, and you can get a table there.

^ Yes, that sounds good...I will give her the link.

I did think about a buffet and I will let her know that one too, but I figured they wanted it a bit more personal as it is a wedding thing. Not sure.

Thanks!

Oops, I was typing at the same time as Scoop. Battistas is the one I was thinking sounded good. She said it obviously doesn't have to be fancy as there will be kids, I think two...but two kids in a fancy restaurant can be like 10!

I will give her the Rao's link also! Thanks!

I ate at Rao's last time we were in town. It was comfortable and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the Lemon Chicken although my son thought it was too lemony. The meatballs were some of the best I have had and the house salad was excellent. Service was excellent, except for the hostess. Overall, we found it a very satisfactory experience.

I would call the restaurants and ask about their banquet menu. With a party of 20, you can save a SIGNIFICANT amount of money compared to ordering a'la carte. Not nearly as many choices, that way. But certainly enough to satisfy everyone. (Unless there's a vegan in the party. There's just no pleasing them.)

Grand Lux Cafe in the Venetian is good for kids. The menu is "global" but has lots of Italian offerings as well as Asian, etc. I've taken my kids there many times. It is huge, moderately priced and everyone can find something they like.

If it matters, Maggianos is a chain.
