Ever since we moved to Vegas last year, I have routinely driven by a huge undeveloped parcel of land near Spanish Trail on Buffalo between Peace & Trop. A couple of months ago some construction activity started, but I wasn't sure what was happening as it just appeared to be some grading of the land. When I drove by today I noticed houses going up and a D.R. Horton sign indicating that the name of the development is Buffalo Ranch. Don't know whether this is a long dormant development or something just recently decided upon, but in any case it is an indication that the local economy/real estate market must be improving.

Buffalo Ranch - D.R. Horton

Default Buffalo Ranch Homes

Hi, can anyone tell me if this is a nice area for a second home and close to most everthing? And anything about D. R. Horton's homes in terms of build quality. We are from Seattle and thinking of retiring in Vegas within a year. Thanks.

I can tell you it's a desirable part of town. Despite the ribbing I like to give MMOB, the Spanish Trails area is quite nice. If you have a car, all of Las Vegas is close to everything.

DR Horton is not a developer that I've read any scandals about as opposed to some others, but I have no actual experience with their properties. I'm sure someone with experience will chime in.

It is a nice area-- I looked at the housed there and I wanted the largest floor plan; however, at the time, those were all the ones that backed up to Buffalo, and I didn't want that-- so I found a more spacious floor plan in Coronado Ranch-- a little more south, but nicer floor plans in my opinion

Thank you for the info and we will keep Coronado Ranch on our radar as well.

I wish I lived in a trailer!

I actually live in one of the tunnels under LVB. Everything else I've written up to this point in time has been an elaborate ruse.
