I could not get what republic services referred to as a certificate from NVEnergy stating that the utilities at our house had been discontinued. We left abandoned our house and went to Pennsylvania with this company paid in full. They knew we were not in the house because they sent us bills in PA. I tried to get this so-called certificate and NVEnergy stated they did not give out certificates or letters stating we had discontinued our utilities. So, we were able to save our house and moved back three years later. Paid our first quarterly bill and then promptly this company sent us a bill for almost $700. They told my husband it was to pay for the lien they placed on our property for non-payment. This is ridiculous. Does anyone know of something like this happening to someone they know and if so, were they able to rectify the situation. We cannot afford this bill and besides, it kinds of sucks to have to pay this when we did have our account paid in full before we left the area.
