Somehow some way i'll land it, I'll start studying foreign languages, and keep putting in apps if I keep trying I'm bound to land it at some point. No one has the passion, energy, or heart that i'd display. Probably would help once I transfer to UNLV as well get a degree from their.

With an attitude like that, I can see you landing the job that you desire. A lot of people don't have the drive or give up to easy. GL.

What a great attitude and work ethic for a 21 yr old. +1 to ya! Keep that up, assuming you have presented yourself sincerely, and I'm sure you'll go far. I can tell you that as an employer, it is so refreshing to read this instead of the recent "But I'm not that moral of a person" and all of the past threads basically seeking advice on how to beat the system in order to not have to make the expected effort. Hopefully some potential employer will take notice of your attitude and give you a shot.

Reminds me of a young man I hired over 20 yrs ago when I began building an industrial plant. He walked up and asked for a job out of the blue. He had only a HS education, knew absolutely nothing about our industry, and his only previous work experience was fixing flat tires briefly. We hired him as a construction common laborer at barely over minimum wage. His work ethic and desire to learn quickly caught our eye. We gave him a position in the plant after construction was over, made extension training and education available to him over time, and he continued to earn well deserved promotions and raises. Within 12 years from the time he walked up with virtually nothing going for himself but his determination, he became the plant manager with 6 figure compensation.

I love your attitude and energy. Just make sure it translates to the written word - you ended your post with "their" when you meant "there." Simple mistakes like that can mean the difference between being considered and having your resume/online app tossed in the circular file.

Edited to add: Oh, and be sure to look at hcareers.com - I see some postings there that might work for you; Embassy Suites, Renaissance, Hampton Inn, Mandarin Oriental, Fairfield Inn, all on the Strip or on Paradise. And night audit positions at Renaissance and Hampton. You can do far worse than to start at the Renaissance, which is Marriott.
