Just wondered, since there are so many live entertainment shows here in town,
how often do you go? And from what I know, many venues offer discounts to
locals, true?...

i've been here for 4 years... the 1st year, we saw alot of free shows through shows4locals.... about the 3rd year, the free "good" shows disappeared.... so in the last year, i've seen 1 show, Peepshow (which I paid for)... it was ok.... I don't have any interest in any of the Cirque shows. I've seen a couple concerts though...

We try to go to shows as often as we can. I don't care about free but I try to get a deal either through "local discount" (which I ALWAYS ask about) or through a site like Travelzoo or something. Next weekend we are going to the Frankie Valle tribute show at the M. Looking forward to that

Lots of concerts, only a few shows. I used to like to go to the comedy clubs back in the day, but I mostly avoid the strip these days. There is a website called fillaseat where you can join (for a fee, which is sometimes half off on groupon) and get free or reduced price tickets to a number of events. It's only for locals. Concerts yes. Shows, no. Cirque does not interest me at all.

concerts = as often as i can see them. shows = rarely. i'd love to see mystere & ka, already saw zumanity. my brother got a "hot deal" letter from wynn recently, which includes tickets to le reve. wasn't really on my to do list, but heck, at the "hot deal" price they're offering, you bet i'll attend.

not really interested in the billion comedy acts we have here.

Took my wife to see Jersey Boys and took my mom to a VIP experience when Wayne Newton was at Trop. Wife wants to see Terry Fator but he is dark on the weekends

Last show Rod Stewart at Caesars good show to see he still has it. Last Comedy show at the Tuscany with Gary Weaver and the Joey. Great venue lounge bar type and the comedians were real interacting with the crowd. They were also outside after the show to meet the folks who attended real neat. The weather is to good doing outside venues went to the Henderson St Patrick day festival real disappointed with that going to the Scott Irish games tomorrow. If all else fails they always have great free bands down on Fremont St.
I do not do Tribute bands either.

Saw Jersey Boys twice because it is great. Going to see the Beach Boys in 2 weeks as it is comped but seriously, cannot afford to see most of the ones I want to see. Some of the great ones can set you back up to a thousand a couple (Streisand). On my hope to see list is Michael Buble and Elton John. Whenever I think of Elton John, I remember going down in an elevator at Caesar's where I had been lounging at the pool with my daughter and sil, who do not like to "rough" it at Mom's house. Riding down in the elevator with me, was an out of town couple and the walls of the elevator were plastered with ads to see him while at Caesars. The wife started teasing her husband and I couldn't help overhear, "Oh honey, can we please go see John Elton?"

Also had to go see a Canadian folk song like singer, famous name I forget, because my sig. other grew up with him in Ontario. He plays at Aliante most years and put on a terrible show.
