I think commuting by bike is something that's viable a lot of the time in Vegas (depending on the route and distance.) It's just not something I'd want to have to do.

I dunno about biking but I usually refrained from driving unless I was going across town. Las Vegas has nice and comfortable buses (at least compared to the ones here in Vermont).

But from my house to work on the Strip at night? That's just insane. There's no way to bike that route without a whole lot of "scary."
can you map your illegal route please? ive been meaning to bike from hollywood to wetlands but couldnt find a way using google maps, so i never tried.

No need to map it. Ride south on Hollywood until you get to the waste treatment plant. You will see a bridge about 1/4 mile southwest from the treatment plant. Ride there (well-traveled dirt paths) and take the bridge. Now you're in the wetlands park. You're not allowed to ride a bicycle there. But in one year of riding I never had problems. Ride south and west until you hit Wetlands Park Ln, which connects to Broadbent.

Done.

I still occasionally ride to errands in Henderson because it's quicker (and more pleasant) than driving. If the wind is really ripping I'll take my truck. But I prefer to bike when I can.
