Would Silverado Ranch be a good, safe area for a twenty-something college girl to live in alone? Or could anyone recommend nice communities to look at? I would prefer a gated community, on the newer side... Clean, maintained and safe. Also, what is everyone's opinion of Big Horn in Henderson? I will be going to school at UNLV so please take that into consideration

Hey Hapa,
I am in the Silverado Ranch area myself and I like it. It is very quiet and close to everything. I am a realtor and have been driving around previewing neighborhoods all day long. Basically, SE Las Vegas and the South Henderson would be pretty good and convenient to attend UNLV.

Safe, rational and convenient neighborhood. Even has a litle life for a 20somenthing which is not always true in the Vegas suburbs.

Also as the kid points out a great commute to UNLV.

Enjoy...

My friend was just out in Silverado Ranch looking at homes. The area is very nice. Big Horn is out by his current home in Henderson. Its a lot farther from UNLV, but the condo community is very nice. Silverado Ranch has several nice condo communities as well.

I've seen lots of empty houses in Silverado Ranch. It's new, looks good so far, but the empty houses make me cautious about being there.

could you tell us which neighborhoods specifically? I believe the closer you are to St. Rose Parkway, the more vacancies of course, but along Silverado Ranch Blvd, Serene, or Pebble, it is not as vacant and the area is much older...

What the kid said...in general the 89123 area code has relatively few empty homes. That is an area where any damage was caused by refis not initial purchase.

We are presently "hunting" Silverado and GV for small homes for a client. In general we are getting 8 or 10 times as many hits in the NW as in Silverado and GV.

Why we are on the topic of Real Estate buying; What's a desirable neighborhood for a Empty Nester Couple to relocate into? With No pets or Kids to now prevent us from enjoying our life together at last.
What would be the best area to consider buying into for a married couple / Empty a nesters aged 49 & 52 wanting to not be too distanced from where all the action and shopping district is in Henderson.
Wanting a Contemporary Style Light and Bright Rancher in size of 2,500 - 3,000 square foot in size.
Preferable not to old & within a budget of $300,K maximum? I've been reading Green Valley areas R ok to live in? Like a nice neighborhood and desire a pool/spa combo! I'm liking the Contemporary Ranchers in Las Vegas; but we don't desire to live anywhere than Henderson; but like the convenience of being accessible to LV by Taxi-Cab. We are active middle agers!0; who enjoy power walking daily.

One friend lives OFF Anthem Park on a Red Planet Drive, on corner in a Over 55's aged restricted area
Another lives up in a Condo Community up near Green Valley Station. Not sure where the other friend lives, other than it's within a aged restricted area to? Any recommendations / suggestions much appreciated.

Good luck hapaprincipessa-on finding yourself a nice area to reside in whilst Studying for 4 years.
