I had no idea Vegas would be awesome. I've never gambled in my life, and would never, and so I always dismissed it for that reason. But then, in the process of looking for where we'll live next, about three days ago I stumbled across the fact that Vegas is two hours or less from Death Valley, the Grand Canyon, Charleston Peak, the Valley of Fire, Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, Mojave Recreation Area, Zion Canyon and Bryce Canyon. Once I realized that... I decided to at least look into it.

I've got like 7 years experience in shipping and receiving and just warehousing in general... inventory and such. My girlfriend is just been working in customer service and has a bunch of waitressing experience too. Eventually, we want to purchase a house and start a business. We've got money saved up that could last us a long time without jobs, and we have no kids. We basically just picked up and moved and came to Colorado Springs, but finding a job was damn near impossible out here if you're not willing to work for the military or one of their contractors, which I'm not. After like 6 months I found a GREAT warehouse gig, so that was cool. But are my odds better in Vegas of picking something up earlier than that? I hear that cost of living is really low too, are wages? Could I expect like 13-14 an hour for a warehouse shipping clerk or something? And am I right about it being amazing for the outdoors?

Also, Colorado Springs is ridiculously conservative. I'm not a liberal by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm very live-and-let-live. I swear and drink and smoke and say what's on my mind. I'm not vile or reckless, but I like to enjoy myself. Here in the Springs, though, that's totally frowned upon by just about everyone I've run across. Will I fit in a little better in Vegas?

And last... are there any areas in Vegas that have a little more color than others? meaning more brown folks lol

let me know!

Yup the East & North sides of Vegas. It sounds like Vegas would fit you like a glove. As was mentioned by a previous poster, you should look into a staffing agency that hopefully get you into Warehousing of some sort.
