Seriously, this site is always trying to get frisky with me, then asks me to spread the love around.

I do wonder what would happen if neighbors took to guerilla tactics and padlocked the water and electricity. I wouldn't encourage it, don't want anyone to get shot. If it was me though, I wouldn't be upset if that house's water main broke, or electrical main had the breakers removed.

I wonder what would happen if the neighbors broke in and changed the locks, squatting on the squatters. They can't go to court to enforce a fraudulent lease. (This is not a suggestion.)

I wonder if the utility companies couldn't help out with situations like these. By that I mean where the owner can set it up so that no one can change the account over without the owner's express permission. Landline phone companies used to have this available for line owners to keep bogus companies from switching their long distance plans without the owner's knowledge. Granted the owner is likely not going to update that if the house goes into foreclosure, but a simple check of the status on the assessor's website would be able to confirm that.

Well its all over. The squatters didnt appear for court last Wednesday, probably knew they were done and didnt have a chance.
Yesterday, Constable posted a 24 get out notice on the door and wouldnt you know they would wait till the last minute to leave.
The Constable, the bank and the locksmith showed up at 10 this morning. The constable made them move all their crap out onto the driveway, while the locksmith did his thing.
I returned home at 11 and everyone was gone except the squatters, they were loading all their stuff into a little Uhaul.
Been a long couple of months but its finally over!

They sell the appliances that they steal. That's what they did with the house where I cancelled my offer.

He said upthread that the neighbors saw them wheel out the new fridge and bring back an old one early on.
