100% agree!!!. I think their stuff is geared towards college students or people just starting out. Hardly good, long lasting quality furniture. We had a huge Ikea store on the outskirts of Seattle .... I never understood the interest. Craigs List was always full of ads for used Ikea furniture.

According to Fox 5 news this morning. The unveiling of the proposed location will take place this morning in the CC GOV Center at 10:30 this morning.

After giving this more thought I'm kind of torn on the issue...I think this will have a negative effect on existing businesses many of which continue to struggle as it is. One of the last things the Valley needs is more empty retail space...its so depressing. At least much of the vacant housing probably isn't painfully obvious to the casual observer.

I guess the Modern-LV delivery service will now go down the drain. I wonder if they were profitable during their short run operating.

Here is the good and bad of IKEA.

The GOOD - Add 200+ jobs, NV gets sales tax

The BAD - All profits go back to Europe!

I don't think there will be a significant impact on other Valley furniture businesses. Ikea furniture definitely has it's own look and that look doesn't appeal to everyone.

I agree. IKEA has cheap furniture made cheaply. Should be a success here in the valley. The one time I went to one in AZ, I enjoyed shopping all their houseware items. Bought myself such a pretty teapot, mugs and matching placemat set while I was there.

A day late and a dollar short for me. I was considering buying some Galant desks from Ikea to accommodate my multi monitor and computer setups in my home office six months ago. Shipping was too expensive and bought a similar style set from Office Depot.
