I will be driving a uhaul truck from Vegas to Sacramento this weekend. Which route is better for me? 99 or 5 or another route? Thanks for your help.

Definitely 99. I drive this route every four weeks. I think that the improvements to 99 have made it just as fast as 5, and of course it is much closer to 58. Do it on Saturday to avoid traffic, if you can.

You could also go through Nevada and come in on 50 from Tahoe. I never do this because 50 is too curvy and has undivided sections that seem dangerous. Or you could go all the way up to 80, but this is a longer route.

If you leave about 8am on Saturday, I'll see you on the road. I'll be the guy in the white suburban flying past.

Good information because I was really considering 5. I actually think I will be leaving tomorrow afternoon so is 99 still the better route on a Friday night? It's a big truck. :-(

Friday night is fine. Just don't leave on Sunday.
