I have been keeping track of the high temps this year where I live in North Las Vegas. It has only gotten past 105* or higher 18X this summer since May. Only 2X has it been 110* or higher. The highest temp was 111* on 1 July 2014. Last year we had a record high in June of 117* and 8 straight days of 112*+. With our monsoon weather this year, its looking like a mild summer.

I was noticing that, too. It does seem cooler this summer. I remember last year when were were out during the day it "seemed" like it was always in the 112 range (maybe I was noticing it more since it still strikes me as silly that it get that hot). Now it's a lot of 102 or 103. It's noticeable.

I was just talking with my g/f yesterday about how the tourists are coming right now and going home wondering why we're always complaining about the heat... "I was there in mid-August and it wasn't bad at all!"

I agree, been seeing the same results as you and have been happy with the summer thus far. Monsoon this year has been on and off with humidity coming and going. I remember last year the monsoon season was two straight months of nonstop humidity.

This is wide spread..There's a Chicago thread titled "We're not going to have a summer this year."..I took my dog for a walk a few nights ago, it was almost chilly outside. Beautiful September weather.

From what I'm told, my friends back in Rhode Island have had 2 days over 85 this year

Yes, it did feel unbearable at times last summer. The heat is not bad until it hits 105*. For some reason that is the magic number when it becomes uncomfortable to be outside for long periods.

That was last summer as well in other parts of the midwest. VERY short summer and just solidified my reasons for moving!
