Fanboiz. Boring, boring, boring. Can't leave a thread to the subject it's supposed to follow once they get started.

I'm beginning to think that you didn't even bother to add water to the Kool-Aid. You simply snorted the powder.

In an attempt to haul this thread back to electricity, it's great being able to run high-draw power tools at $0.0555555. I'm making 12 bookcases. I probably spent $0.75 today to do so. Although when I turn the sander on, that's roughly a buck a minute no matter how low the rates.

I'm going to have to come visit your wood shop soon. I want to build some shelves for the garage.

I don't normally buy power tools, but when I do I buy Festools only.

Same reason as Macs. These tools depreciate ever so slowly.

Hahahahahahahahaha. Everything is a damn investment isn't it suppose to be?

I buy Festool because they work better. But those are mostly hand tools. (Except for the Kapex I have on order right now.) The tools in my shop run on 220v, and some of them draw an impressive amount of amps. I had to improve my electrical service to run these tools. And I have plenty of tools that aren't Festool. I don't need to spend $700 on a cordless drill.

The "investment" is the ability to make fine furniture and not having to pay $10,000 for a kitchen table. I don't buy things with one eye on their resale value.

The TS55 Track saw is very safe to use. What's a finger worth I said to myself?

I bought it originally because a contractor was going to charge me huge labor on doing hardwood flooring.

Festool made the job easier and safer for a DIYer.

You cut flooring material with a track saw? Why?

If there was EVER a job for a miter saw, it's wood flooring. Doesn't even have to be a Kapex. But that is the best tool for the job.
