lien on your registration from another state - toll evasion?

I posted this in Automotive, but it applies to southern Nevadans who drive to california.

In a nutshell, we drove to Huntington beach last month, and I saw the toll signs, no toll booth, the tool overpass camera whathaveyou (picture in post #12), forgot about it, recieved a The Toll Roads Notice of Toll Evasion with $121.59 due - two tolls - $3.75 & $2.84, plus $57.50 late payment penalty X 2 ( ). Date subject to vehicle registration lien - 11/06/14 for both violations. There are violations numbers, date and times (from the camera no doubt), and location, license plate number.

Paid it online yesterday and they forgave the penalties (plural) and I paid $6.59 with my cc.

Per my post #14, I got a reply from NV DMV:
Quote:
In Nevada, the only situations that can suspend your registration are if you have a lapse of your Nevada insurance, or if your vehicle is reported as a smoking vehicle.

Out of state toll fines will not affect your Nevada registration.
So maybe my registration wouldn't be affected? Who knows.

A lien would (or could, I don't know if the toll authority does it) be placed on your title, not your registration. You wouldn't be able to transfer ownership of the car until the lien was paid.

Violation specifically states vehicle registration lien.
