So I get that you cannot have a beverage in a glass downtown or on the strip, which means no cocktails or bottles. Those plastic yard long slurpee things are still okay, and I assume solo cups are alright as well.

What about flasks? Am I gonna run the risk of getting a ticket if a cop catches me doctoring up a plastic bottle of coke with a little rum out of a flask? Do I need to bother being sneaky?

Can't speak to the legality of what you're asking, but if you're of age and you're not making any sort of a ruckus, you're unlikely to be bothered.

I have carried obvious alcoholic beverages down the strip many times. Unless you're trying to fight someone, you'll be left alone.

Yards and solo cups are not legal either, but they are overlooked. I've had glass and aluminum containers with alcohol on the strip and never been approached. If you aren't acting like a fool, the cops have plenty of people who are to focus on.

You can absolutely have glass bottles on the strip. Just not on the FSE. 2 different places with different rules.

Its illegal to have any open container of alcohol in any public place unless you are within the defined area of a licensed establishment. This is the first law you learn when you get a TAM card. However business trumps the law so its ignored mostly.

TAM cards are such a joke, aren't they? They made my underage son get one to work at Walmart when he was still legally too young to serve or drink alchohol. It's a working mans tax is what it is.

Keep in mind the Strip up to the Stratosphere area is in the Township of Paradise and the Town council makes and passes the laws. Downtown Fremont ST area is in the city of Las Vegas and they make their laws. Two different legislature bodies. So yes it can be confusing and what I have seen in both locations is correct from others who have posted here the law enforcement turns the other way most of the time but be careful it only takes one robo cop or word being passed down from above to clamp down and then you get busted BOO!!!!!!! So stay in the casino drink the over price drinks and you are protected by the crooks (casinos) who rip you off and can do so legally lol.
