There is construction on the island just south of the Welcome Sign, well, its actually south of the parking that they built a couple of years ago.

So what are they doing with that? Beautification? A bar?

More parking and hopefully add a pedestrian crosswalk with traffic signal for the visitors' sake crossing Las Vegas boulevard to take photos in the area of the welcome sign.

They put up a sign today, if you are heading South on Las Vegas Blvd, right before the sign there is a sign...it mentions the name of the contractor and "Las Vegas sign parking lot"...so guessing they are adding on to the parking lot.

Goodluck with that one. It has already been mentioned in the past, local officials plan on putting a pedestrian traffic signal in the area, so perhaps it will be up by the time the additional parking lot is done.
