Henderson is also a nice place to live, basically the further from the strip the better.

Sorta, maybe, kinda, not really.

Right near the strip is not that desirable, but I don't think the further the better. The better areas currently tend to follow the Beltway around the valley. Generally you don't need to get farther than that, and farther than that is not more desirable.

If your idea of a view is all the neighbors' houses, you're absolutely right.

Most houses in Las Vegas look something like this:



So if you're OK with miles and miles of desert Levittown, go for it.

Move to certain hills that dot the valley (and there aren't many of them and the price of entry is usually off the charts), or move to the rim of the valley, and you'll get the same basic Las Vegas house above, with this view.



One of the few things I like about living here is I get to look at this every day. I'm not at all interested in what goes on here -- other than concerts and restaurants -- but I do enjoy the view.
