How bad was it in your area last night?

Last night, my neighborhood was like a war zone till midnight. It was pretty bad! 10x more fireworks than I saw/heard previous years. Wonder if people have a few more discretionary dollars for fireworks. Maybe the economy has improved?

Judging by my neighborhood, they might as well ditch the "safe and sane" fireworks. War zone around here with enough fireworks flashing in the sky it looked like a massive lighting storm going on through my closed blinds. The streets are now littered with firework debris. I will say that the fireworks did stop at midnight, but my scared dog kept shaking for several hours more.

too many fireworks near me and well after 1 AM! It was happening weeks before and I sure a few days after the 4th. They really should outlaw fireworks in residential areas

I noticed significantly more (illegal) fireworks than in any prior years that I can recall. Clearly people have money to burn.

I enjoy watching the fireworks. One day per year doesn't bother me.

Please just let it go. People can only do it once a year. It doesn't seem to cause any harm other than some folks don't like the light and sound.
My neighbor behind me had fireworks, it light up my backyard and pool. It was very pretty to look at. I can tell you those fireworks are not cheap. I am glad that they spent the money to cheer up the neighborhood.

fireworks are toxic Study: Fireworks cause a toxic brew of unhealthy air
but so are exhaust fumes from automobiles

also, I feel sorry for most dog owners.... my shiba inu however isn't phased by the slightest

i personally like fireworks, no matter how many times i see them. like art to me.

Seems we all had the same thing happening. They were shooting off big stuff that could set fire to your roof if landing on it. This went on until after 3 in the morning. Started day before and will probably be going on tonight. It is definitely against the law here but seems it gets worse every year.

I love it. The noise, the feel, the smell, the visual. One of the great experiences of being alive.

Got a dog now who is not a fan. So nothing local.

My favorite is under one of the big displays...like when Macy's would pop the stuff off over Manhattan along the Hudson. Not only great visuals and audios but they moved you...literally.

And you can get potent stuff in Pahrump...illegal to shoot off there but sell-able...you got to love Nevada.

And I do pay attention. Got a couple of palms that need to be pruned and I would not want something to land in there. Surrounded by CA oaks though which are not going to burn.

I'd say the locals did a great job last night! From our hotel room, it looked great out over the city. Freedom is an awesome thing, and what a way to celebrate the courage of our founding fathers. Don't let the whiney commiefornia-style spoilsport, nimrods ruin a long running American tradition like they've done elsewhere.

At least is seems no one was dumb enough to shoot a firework mortar from their head like one drunk guy did somewhere. He was only 22 and the last words he ever said was "Hold my beer."
