A friend and i will be moving to vegas in October, I live in Bufalo NY he lives in northern California, we are both 23. We went to school in tucson AZ and want to move back to the desert. We both work as personal trainers and in the food service industry as servers/bartenders at high end restaurants. We are looking for a nice area of town to live because we have delt with some shady areas living in tucson. We are looking for a 2bd/2ba in the 800-1000 dollar range. Do you have any specific areas you reccomend (streets, or apartment complexes) Thanks for any help.

Hey, I live in Buffalo, NY too...moving to LV in May 2008. I just got back from there visiting and would recommend Allanza at the Lakes just outside of Summerlin...not actually in Summerlin, but close enough. It's a huge gated community and the 2bed/2ba was very large and clean. Community looked great too! Also, check out Crystal Cove, It was out of my price range a bit, but they have attached garages in all their apartments. Good Luck!

Go Sabres!

Henderson is great. I wouldn't live anywhere else after Henderson. 89012 is amazing. I am a police officer and I patrol alot of areas in LV and NLV and let me tell you that you will not make a bad choice with Henderson. The Horizon Ridge area in particular. Boulder highway area doesn't look nice but it is not really a hot spot for criminal activity either so it is ok. I would avoid the areas around the state streets because those are in the red on our Hot spot maps we have on the computer in our cars. The maps are updated daily and henderson is rarely red.

Both are nice. . Very similar demographics.

If buying you may do better in the NW. Probably better buys in Centennial Hills If renting they are close to the same.

Think about where you are working. The rule is don't cross the strip - particularly diagonally.

Thanks for the imput. Commute is not an issue, nor schools. I think we will rent until we are better acquainted with Vegas. I am hearing that Alliant is not bad either. I feel like a person might as well just throw a dart ! lol
