Normally I can appreciate art, and have quite a fondness for abstract and mixed media. Please someone tell me that this project isn't really a 3+ million dollar commissioned piece that people will be subjected to driving by for the next two years.

I hate to be critical but IMHO something like that out in our desert is like a giant boil on the face on nature!

It appears to have been funded by private organizations but
Why...JUST WHY???

I feel like I'm entirely missing the point of this.

I haven't seen the dollar amount from a confirmed source but that's the number people are throwing around and the man is indeed a well known artist.

Like it. Interesting.

And if you got a half a dozen guys could you push one over?

May drive out and take a look.

Maybe I would appreciate it in a more urban setting.

I feel something more naturalistic would be more appropriate
and would have added rather than detracted out in the desert. Its the colors that I am hating. The photographs of it in the dark make it appear much more tolerable.

Just wait until it gets tagged or that Scoutmaster from Utah gets there.

You mean pushed over and tagged? At least then it won't be visible from the road.

Dollars? American? I would have charged much less. But I do think it's kind of cool.

But I like the tree of Utah too!
