I don't know how many years they've been doing this, not many 3 or 4.

It gets a little bigger every year though. This year George Wallace came out and gave a bit of a free show.

Stan Armstrong who teaches over at UNLV has made some very nice historical films about Las Vegas.

Many will not know that Nevada was a Jim Crow State, "the Mississippi of the west" it was called.

Here is a clip from one of Stan Armstrong's movies outlining the history of blacks in Las Vegas.

Invisible Las Vegas - Clip 2 - YouTube

Not sure where you could see the entire film. I'll have to find out as it is very good.

Anyhow, It was a one day even. Perhaps if you never went, you can go next year. Perhaps I'll create a thread before it happens.

On another note, that wings over Las Vegas show they had was great.

Didn't know about this until I saw it in the news last night. Looked like a pretty big turn out. Did they have plenty of authors there too?

They had two. My Haley (wife of Alex Haley) was there. I talked to her a bit about Alex Haley. Apprently she helped him write Roots.

I forget the other Authors name, she was selling some kids books about equality. I did not talk to her and am sorry I did not, somehow time just got the best of me. Though I spent the entire day at the place. I guess they only had two Authors, it would be nice if they would have more.

I guess it will be around same time next year. It was 5 bucks to get in and kids got in for free. I'll try and post something ahead of time. I think a lot of people don't know about it.

My one complaint is none of the vendors had any grape kool-aid.
