I wasn't sure where to post this. I think that working on the strip is probably entirely different from working elsewhere so I decided to post here.

I just started a new cocktail gig at a major high end strip casino. It's Union but some of the others are unlike anywhere else I have ever worked. The girls keep telling me that I need to look out for girls who will intentionally sabotage me and tell management I am Hard to work with or that I can't do my job... Whether or
not it's even true. They said the others do it to all new girls . How do I nip it in the bud so I can just get through probation? Should I warn them that I was recommended by a manager ( who happens to be a former regular customer of mine when I was at another property ) so to lie about me will just make them look bad? Or should I just ignore it? Please help. I don't want to be a target I just want to get along and be able to work in peace and focus on my customers

Thanks for any advice

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. In other words, befriend them so they feel guilty.

Get one of many apps that record continuously and keep your phone on you (but hidden) at all times. If they say or do anything in your presence, you have evidence to take to HR.

Be careful Nevada is a two party consent State. There may be an argument that certain areas like work stations are not public.

That is absurd. next thing you know, they won't allow guests to pour their own drinks or minors to gamble.

(Obviously being sarcastic)

Being retired from the gaming biz I would suggest do your job and do it well.

The boss KNOWS who the haters are.

I think warning them that you have some kind of "juice" is 100% the wrong way to go about it.

Ask questions go with the flow and be helpful. They rest will settle itself.

Thanks robo.
You are always so helpful. I do see you as very well versed and feel I can't go wrong if I follow your advice. Did you get my private message? I messaged you because you helped me out in a major way when I had questions last thread. I have been following your advice and so far ( as I know) I get on with everyone and seem to be well liked . Of course one could never tell where one stands with coworkers in such a competitive industry

Absolutely spot on advise! Do a great job, don't get involved in the petty crap around you and you'll do great. The managers know exactly who the complainers are and who's staying above it and providing excellent service.

Just put in your best effort and hope for the best. If you dont pass probation, then did you really want to work there anyways. Unfortunately some cocktail servers are the biggest drama queens in the industry. We have audio recording in the main service stations at the property I work at due to the nonsense they cause.
