Ah the (in)famous Red Rooster. Thanks for the write up. I've long been curious about the goings on there. Bet the neighbors are thrilled. I think I read something about the neighborhood complaining about it years ago, now that I think about it.

NVL, I wondered the same thing. Obviously it's not in an HOA neighborhood but how and why does the county put up with a business as that being run out of a residential home?

Also, it wasn't mentioned what the cover charge for admittance was? Not that I'm saving up to go there.

From what I saw, the residence had grown enough that there actually seemed to be some privacy separating it and the surrounding homes. It looked like it had its own small parking lot, and at this parking lot entrance, there was a phone booth-sized stall staffed with a volunteer (I'm guessing he was there to help with parking or answer questions). The parking lot was tiny, however, and most people resorted to parking along the main street, but it was very quiet with more than ample parking for the busy Saturday night crowd. I also could not hear or see any of the fracas from outside the house. I have no idea how rowdy things are capable of getting there, but it seemed to me that it was generally a case of "out of sight, out of mind" for the neighbors.

Here are the "requested donations"

Single women - $5 (free some nights, I believe)
Couples - $30
Single men - $50

Local couples get a free week-long admission pass that expires on Saturday. So if you come in on a Wednesday, your $30 would get you nightly admission through that Saturday.

Is that joint still here? It's been here forever. But back in the day it was kinda out in the desert by itself.

I'm not a prude, and to each his own, but the place sounds like loser-ville.

Man, that place has been around for a while. Wonder if Green Door still exists?

Surprises me that they still have visitors.

Green Door still exists. I've never been there but I noticed it (hard not to since the building is painted green) when I finally went to Lotus of Siam a couple months ago. The reviews for that place don't seem promising at all, however (the crowd is usually made up of single guys who paid $100 to get in, so they're aggressive in trying to get their money's worth), so I doubt I'll check it out anytime soon.

Through the years, I have heard the couples were mostly old and wrinkled, not attractive and with creepy single guys sitting around just watching. I have never heard that there were hot, young, beautiful females in there but then, you could have went on a good night.

Interesting read, although unfortunately I feel like I can smell the place.
