I would appreciate anyone with knowledge to assist me in learning about my pension plan now that I am moving to Nevada. I recently acquired dual citizenship....Canada/United States and am moving in a couple months to Nevada. My question is I am not ready to retire and am planning to work full time in the states.
Can I work full time and pay american taxes while collecting my Canadian pension at the same time? I paid into it for 38 years.

I gotta ask...why would you want to relocate to the States, and particularly Vegas when Canada is reportedly the new land of compassion and opportunity. Please don't say it's the weather....trust me...summers get mighty warm here in the desert ...thanks

I would urge you to get some real professional advice. It might be a tax disaster!

Warm > cold every single time.

I am seriously curious, only because after this last election the new fade became "I'm moving to Canada" however my friends in the province of Quebec are telling me something entirely different. A true Canadian's point of view would be interesting.

I grew up in PA. I know all about cold and miserable weather.
I'd rather live in a warm dictatorship than a cold utopia.

This seems to be a question for your Canadian pension plan. It would not violate any American law.

I was going to go there also. I don't think the US would be your problem with this, other than you'd have to pay US taxes on the pension payments (which you would from a US domestic pension also.) Lots of people retire, collect their pensions, then get another job. It's just more income.

The only people that said that were millennials, people who can't do math, and socialists, normal people got over it, regardless of what side your on.

Welcome to Las Vegas!

My neighbors inquired about Canada, they were told it was 2 million US dollars for a Canadian citizenship. Of which in 10 year 1 million would be refunded. Canada would keep a million.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you have to pay or promise to do to come here. I have met many people from overseas and they had to open a business promising a certain amount of employees and some cash. But it depended on the country or time they came in.

I sure these folks are going back to their home in Canada in the summer. Like most Canadians do who are here during the winter.
