So there are 3 companies on the Marketplace. I'm 31, no pre-existing conditions, rarely get sick.

However, what is best of these 3 companies if you had to select?

1. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield

2. Health Plan of Nevada

3. Prominence Health Plan

We need insurance until my wife's new job insurance kicks in. She was able to get a private plan for $389/mo. but I'm stuck with a plan off the marketplace. I talked to someone at length on this, and all the plans are different for what they cover, deductijbles, etc. I don't know that there is a "best" plan, per se, since it depends on what someone needs and how much they want to spend.

Anthem is leaving the marketplace at the end of 2017 but I will go with that plan for a couple of months. It is $644/mo. which really isn't too bad. Cobra for both of us was over $1600. Hopefully my wife's job insurance kicks in (she is an RN) soon so we don't need this marketplace stuff for too long.

You want PRIVATE insurance...the stuff on the "marketplace" is total crap. Deductibles so high, that few ever get to use their insurance benefits.

^^^ spoken like someone who is parroting the rumor. Did you buy insurance off the marketplace. Fake news.

The Blues are not offered for 2018 on the marketplace.

If you have pre-existing, you don't have an option BUT the marketplace. Trust me, I was uninsurable for very petty things like low thyroid, allergies.

Marketplace - I got great insurance. For $919. per month $600.00 deductible. With allergies shots that was covered the first mixture of shot medication.

First I had the not for profit for 2 years. They were excellent. But went under, too many claims.

Last 2 years I had Blues. No financial help from gov't. Excellent coverage, didn't mind paying for gold coverage. Now they are pulling out. CRAP!

HPN will probably offer crappy coverage. The other option Promiance (sp) was awful a few years ago.
