I'm not a financial advisor. Do what you want with your money.
We'll see how Uber does long term. I don't expect them to go anywhere. But even if Uber goes away, lyft or some other company will rise to fill their spot.
Cabs are done for. They are horse and buggies.

Las Vegas, the strip portion, is designed to separate people from their money. No matter what piece you are discussing. Saving a few dollars on transport is a joke. If you are going to LV on a budget then good luck to you. The cabs are convenient for now. Convenience is attractive. Pick your poison.

Drive down the strip and count the cabs you see.
Drive down the other way and count lyft and ubers.
Subtract the number of cabs from the number of lyfts and ubers.

Maybe math will show you how thoroughly rideshare is dominating cabs.

I would think the Lyft and Uber dominance is certain to continue. The cabs may well maintain a presence in the strip area but otherwise they are pretty much not a factor.

Note for the last two decades we would never consider using a cab to the airport. Our choice would be a friend than a Bell town car. If only a few days we would leave a car at the airport. Cab was expensive and completely unreliable.

And that will be the view of most Vegans not living in the immediate vicinity of the strip. I will also use a Lyft for visits to the Retinologist where l cannot drive home.

So the Vegans will guarantee the continuation of Lyft and Uber.
