What is the average rate a baby sitter makes here in Southern Nevada? I'm referencing one that comes to your house or if you drop your munchkin off at a trusted friends house. Thank you

My friend in N LV pays $150 week drop off. My kid pays $150 week drop off on East Coast. I don't know the add ons, but these are people who do in-home and ends up around 9 hours a day. Both children are infants and require diaper changes and feeding. I have no idea how they vetted these people, but they do have their own children and it seems like a SAHM picking up some extra cash since already caring for their own. For around $3.25/hour, I would not expect much and have no idea how they are regulated or if they participate in licensing or work "under the table".

Family friend pays $20 a day to have this spanish speaking lady take care of her kid while she works (8 hours). The kid is now bi-lingual. My sister pays $50 in Summerlin for a date night sitter (5 hours max).

I pay mine $10.50 an hour 12 hours a week. She doesn't cook, clean, drive my kids anywhere, etc.

20 a day? If I paid her 30 a day would she just keep my kids full time?

Thank you, everyone, for the info. I figured around ten to twelve an hour was a decent rate considering someone we know would either be watching the kid in their own home or in our home where they could basically sit and watch TV and then change/feed the munchkin every so often.

They are cheaper like that when they watch multiple kids in their own home. I'm too much of a worry wart to leave my toddler at someone else's house.

Just a heads up for anyone looking to pay a babysitter for less than minimum wage-don't do it because those days are over. My sitter gave me a tax form and she only works 12 hours a week. That makes me her employer, basically. Pissed me off, but she is well within her rights & thank goodness I am paying over minimum wage. If I had to let her go she would probably file for unemployment.

Beats teaching. Imagine if you were paid even half that much for a classroom full of kids. After all, people think it's just baby sitting anyway.
