for my next travel to vegas, easy access to downstars restaurants and qualiy of them would be a big factor:
i am on budget travel so i am looking at sub 100$ hotels incl. resort fees somewhat flexible.
With that, looking combination of factors
- easy access, wlka downstairs and dine.
- variety
- quality (less junk food, more authentic and reasonable quality, not overly expensive)
- operate extended hours.
- option to walk to nearby ones and dine there as well.

Southpoint meets most of those factors, but you probably need a rental car if you want to go to the strip or downtown...it was my primary hotel for 15 years, until we moved here a couple years ago.

Circus Circus has a highly-regarded steakhouse, believe it or not. You might get bedbugs from the room though.

If you Google the Casinos, their websites show the restaurants, menus etc. Ones with an option to walk next door or down the block are mostly on The Strip. Hotel/Casino resorts like The M and SouthPoint etc aren't near anything within walking distance. If you have a car or can take Uber/Lyft etc, you could stay in Summerlin (Downtown Summerlin, Boca Park and Tivoli Village have good restaurants). Town Square is just north of SouthPoint. Green Valley Ranch Casino has good places to eat and is close to The District that has some good restaurants. JW Marriott is not far from Marche Bacchus and Americana in Desert Shores.

Stay on Fremont where all the boxes are checked.

-low room rates
-Lower cost food
-wide variety of food within very easy walking distance.
-24 hour eats.

SouthPoint should be way below your $100/night budget, and you can talk to one of the hosts at the end of your trip, most of the time my stay was free and most of my room charges were taken care of, they treat their customers very well.

Freemont is what you want especially since you think Southpoint is expensive. But you're trying to get steak on a ground beef budget sooooo.......

The best thing about Southpoint is Michael's Restaurant. Very old-school Las Vegas vibe - crushed velvet booths, etc. Not cheap, but absolutely worth it.
