Over the phone, I pleaded for Metro to show up and assist myself and our security officer at work regarding the accident that just happened. Metro refused to show up saying it happened in a pvt property.

Turns out, according to my insurance company, the person that hit my car did not even own the car and the person that owns the car does not have insurance.

LOST REVENUE for Metro since they did not show up to issue a ticket to the person that hit my car and now I have a busted wheel cover and dent on my car. Thanks Metro but NO THANKS, I do NOT want to pay more taxes.
LVMPD is PROHIBITED BY LAW from investigating private property motor vehicle accidents....period.

Call the local medical society. They may know where she transferred records.

Let me tell you more, I work in an apartment complex in a not so well to do area in Clark County. I see Metro ON A REGULAR BASIS inside our PVT property. Our residents call out for Metro and they show up for whatever reason mostly domestic related issue and drug related issue. Now tell me the difference on why they can show up in a PVT property for domestic or drug related issue and NOT for a motor vehicle accident. I see no reason why they can show up for a domestic issue and NOT for a motor vehicle accident. Both require an assistance from Metro and both happening in a PVT property.

I do NOT want to pay higher taxes period. They can slash their salaries in half like what happened to me during the recession.

We don't need more police officers, what's really needed is a new Sheriff that knows better how to control costs!

I walked my ferret around Town Square last week, one night, and there were 2 police cars parked there while I was there, between 1am-3am! WTF!!! Town Square has its own security, and I ran into 2 police officers walking around Town Square at that hour of the night, when there's so few patrons around, what gives!!!

Same with the Strip! The casino moguls have their own security, why are we stationing police on the Strip?

In L.A. 68% of the voters voted in a half-percent sales tax, but at least they're getting some much-needed infrastructure developement out of their money, like their growing light rail system!

I'm disgusted to see what organizations are supporting this preposterous idea!

In Phoenix where I am from, the police will not show up on private property for accidents. From reading above, it seems it is the same here. You just have to suck it up and pay for it yourself. I have had worse happen to me. How would you like to be side swiped by a drunk driver who had insurance, the driver gets a dui, and then have TITAN () insurance deny your claim because the driver claims that I hit him? The pig cop would not give him a ticket for the accident since I had no witnesses. Since I only had liability, I was screwed as he ruined the passenger side of my 1986 Mazda RX7. That was back in 1998. Now I am smart. If someone pulls that on me again, I will smack them hard back with my car since it is already full of dents.

A few weeks ago in Downtown Vegas, I saw around 6 or 7 Metro officers on Bike patrol or was it a joy ride? They were riding their bikes leisurely on East Fremont. I took a photo of the group, I will look for it and post it here when I find it.

But the fact of the matter, it's lost revenue for Metro and a person drove off our property without a driver license and proof of motor vehicle insurance. I took the wheel cover on the spare tire off my car and I have a small dent on the back of my car. Yup I lost out. Luckily I was not injured, when the accident happened, my car was parked in front of the office and this a$$hole backed into it.

And what are the hidden, unspoken costs of hiring more police officers?

More traffic fines/higher insurance premiums that many cannot afford, money that could have gone to stimulating the local economy.

More arrests, more jail/prison beds needed, incarceration costs, both direct/indirect costs at 50k a year!

Las Vegans, ask yourself: Can we afford all the true costs of hiring more police officers? And wouldn't you rather pay an extra tax for more infrastructure needs/desires? Or some other projects?

It is stories like yours why I continue to drive this car. If I was in your situation, I would not have even cared:

As far as your situation, been there done that. I went to get my haircut and came out to find my car that I loved keyed on both sides back in Phoenix, so I get it. I do feel for you, but unfortunately this is the way it is. Do you have collision insurance? That would cover your damage, otherwise you will have to pay out of pocket.
