I used to go there often with my co-workers and or with my wife and her friends. Great atmosphere, no long lines, decent size dance floor, big screen TVs for watching music videos, plenty of places to sit down even if you are not in VIP and its in the center of the gambling floor of MB casino.

and its FREE!!!!!!

I went to the job fair at Texas Station, and that was pretty much a waste of time. There were hardly any employers there, and most of their applications could be done online. I did give blood, so the day wasn't to badly wasted. Besides helping people out, I got two free tickets to see comedian Kevin Burke at Fitzgeralds.

Aqua, you should do like we've been doing the past few weeks: Go to all the slot clubs in all the casino's, get your free slot play. What you do is play the free slot play, but cash out any winnings, even if it's just a few bucks. The money adds up and depending on what machines you play, you could hit some good sized jackpots. Just don't get greedy and think you could win more and end up playing it all though. Then you will have defeated the purpose.

You might want to check into that job for Sitel where you work from home, they direct calls to you and pay you weekly. You will have to have internet access and a computer to do this. If your sister and brother in law balk at the idea, tell them it's an income and it will be faster that you get your own place.

Don't you have to put at least a buck into the machine? That's a little hard to do when you don't have any bucks. I've already applied to Sitel, Starbucks, WalMart, and Station Casinos. I've got an interview scheduled (automated) for August 26 for on call Front Desk Clerk at Texas Station. I'm hoping to hear back from MGM soon.

Many places don't require a buck to start. Some places that i know of are: The Venetian, Ellis Island, and i think Tuscany. There are more, i just have to go over my notes.
Just skip Hooters and Casino Royale, they are both scammy and you don't win anything. Go look at the thread "Deals for locals." More info there. I still have not finished the report yet. tomorrow we are hitting the last 2 casino's on the Strip and we will start in Henderson next.
Just keep applying for jobs whenever you can. Sooner or later someone should hire you. Try to get steady full time work versus part time. Part time won't pay the rent unless you are going for a roomie deal.

True. The free play at Hooters was a total bust.

I signed up for the Tuscany a couple of years ago when I won the pool on the Point. Sigh...those were better days. I'll have to follow the Deals for Locals thread.

The TSA is hiring part time leading to full time. It pays $14 an hour to start, plus federal benefits. The only problem is that you have to be able to carry 70lbs. With my medical problem, that could be difficult.

Yeah those job fairs are usually a waste. If you want a job you have to go down to the place hiring & speak with a manager, follow up call etc... Most people don't want to do that but it shows you are a go-getter. Be persistent & you will get a job.
