89142 is an area that I generally suggest needs local knowledge. This is an exception. That area is completely dominated by very high density apartments and housing. Don't go there unless you are very urban, young, spry, quick and carry a gun. Then it is probably OK.

LOL Too funny.

Ole ... where are your usual links to crime waves etc. I always forget what they are. I know, write em down. I like to look at them every now and then.

By the way, Remember the 'curious flights' thread about the helicopters in NW?

Last week I went outside cause it sounded like he was gonna land on my roof. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but 4 cop cars with 2 officers in my front yard aiming rifles at a house across the street. Never have found out what the hay was going on, too afraid to ask my neighbors. LOL

When we first came to Las Vegas we rented a little house in Desert Shores for 6 months.

Came home one afternoon to find the entire neighborhood blocked off whit helicopters circling overhead and all that.

Turns out the guy who lives right behind us had a hobby of robbing banks. And he owned the house.

Many years ago in Rochester NY our IT manager went out on his morning break and robbed the local bank. The cops chanced on him because he had the snow melted off his head in the parking lot. Security called him to come to the front desk. Went out the loading dock...got in his car...drove home...went to the airport after getting a friend to order a ticket. Got on an airplane and left town. Caught him a month later. He plead guilty. Got two years...when he got out we rehired him. Good IT guys are hard to find.
