Yep, they are everywhere. We were just seeing them on the east side, but know we have been getting calls from all over town. Weird. Every year we have one thing that we usually did not have problems with. This year is the gnats. People are confused about them though, because most are in the larvae stage right not, so people think that they are not gnats.

Ahhhh...those sound more like unwanted relatives that just won't leave.

Controlling Chinch Bugs, here is a good link for these bugs. They are actually called chinch bugs. Proper lawn care is the best defense for them.

I see bedbugs are also called chinch bugs. Are they the same bug?

Nope, I have never heard of a bedbug called a chinch. But if you look up Chinch bugs, they are a lawn insect, looks like a gnat. Proper lawn maintenance and watering is one of the best ways to get rid of them.

According to the American Heritage Dictionary program on my computer, they are both called chinch or cinch bugs, but they don't say they are the same thing, but each has only a slightly different description.

Humm, not sure about your program. Google the Chinch bug or even cinch bug and just the bugs that attack the lawns comes up. Sorry, no bed bugs.
