That's right Lyndie. I have been praying since the day I applied (Jan 5th) that if it is in God's plan I will get the job, and if it's not in his plan for me, then please don't even let me get the offer! I only want the job if it's God's will, but I am hoping it is . That's why I'm not worried about the "chopping block"" or any of that. I have been praying for all of you since I joined the thread back in June as well.

[quote=WC Walker;10837024]Waaaaaaaaaaait a GD effin minute.......you have 20+ years experience, and you applied for a "cook" position?

That's a joke, right? Becuase if you have that much exp. and they offered you part time......holy wtf?

Well, I might as well write if off then, since I applied for a slightly higher position than cook, and have half that experience. If I was offered part time, there's no way I could accept it....too many bills to pay in addition to monthly rent.

Wow....I really don't mean to sound negative....sorry if it bothers anyone...but this thread has been a real education for me regarding casinos. I've never worked for one before, let alone in Vegas.
i was a chef, didnt like it, at the moment i am supplementing my income with unemployment so part or full time i would take, its a foot in...

My question is are they going to actually call everyone on Monday or is Monday just the first day of offering jobs to externals.....basically will people be getting calls all that week (mon-fri)?......

Hey beverage_server, I was happening to be on craigslist yesterday, and someone else who applied for cocktails was wondering about the hiring process, she also stated she did NOT take her drug test either, but she has had two interviews.

I am sorry I offered some information to you guys/gals that you did not like, but I know the truth. I am making this post to clear one thing up. I have NEVER applied, nor ever wanted to work for city center. Just because someone has negative information doesn't mean it is personal. With that being said, I hope that the economy does miraculously turn around, and city center is a success. I personally just do not see that happening. I know you people have worked hard going through all the hoops to get hired, and the waiting game has got to be stressful, so you have my best wishes to all of you regardless.

There were personal attacks and it was extremely negative, it wasn't by YOU but it was there by other posters. Criticizing my job experience is crossing the line a bit on personal attacks and stating I won't last past April was another one, neither of which was done by you, so don't worry about it.

Actually I am an external hire. In fact, I am currently employed by MGM's #1 competition. My app status was open and blank up until 2 weeks ago, then it changed to active and I received a call this past wednesday to come in on friday(9/18). This is for a food server position. So they have already started extending job offers to externals, it just seems that the big hiring frenzy will start tomorrow. Good luck!
