You're being way too vague. Define "best".

Please read thru thread after thread after thread on this subject. If after that you have more specific questions...by all means...fire away! We can get more specific as well.

It depends on what you can afford but in my opinion certain areas are overrun with very low class people and criminals. Those places are in 89101, 89106, 89109, 89110, and the old part of North Las Vegas which I think is 89030. It's all relative though as no part of the Las Vegas Valley is as bad as the worst parts of cities like New York, Chicago, Detroit, Washington, DC, etc. Besides, if anyone asking these questions is low class or a criminal then maybe they won't mind.

I have seen some very nice looking apartments off W. Cheyenne just before you get to I-215. I was most impressed with the views up there in the foothills. Also, the apartments in areas along US 95 between Ann Road and the Kyle Canyon (Mt. Charleston) turnoff look nice. The newer stuff is in the western, southwestern, and northwestern parts of town; not to be confused with the West Side, which not a good area.

The area know as West Side is old, old, old Las Vegas and is now a ghetto. During the days of segregation most of Las Vegas' black population was more or less relagated to live there and the area has never really recovered from the poor conditions they were forced to live in. Although some of it is slowly improving it is still a high crime area.

CSI is a television program. Most people should know the difference between television and reality, but after 32 years in that business I'm convinced that they don't. BTW: I'm not a regular viewer, but from what I've seen of it, CSI isn't even filmed in Las Vegas except for a few location shots and establishing shots now and then.

I was trying to say you know a non rough neighborhood, not highly expensive, and not in the LAS flight path. Also in the middle of the valley. Not close to the strip and not way out on the ends of the metro area. Finally in the city of Las Vegas, but unincorporated is ok as well
Once again my bad on me slippin on being not that specific.

If you mean the best areas to score rock cocaine, that would be Tam Dr. just off Sahara and LV Blvd. or Palos Verdes and Twain.

In that case, no.

Actually you might try looking around East Rochelle between Eastern and Pecos, or somewhere in that general neighborhood in the 89121 zip.

You might like the Sunrise Mtn area as well. East Las Vegas gets a bad rap, but there are some really nice areas with great views, east of Nellis.
