I know this thread is old. I just wanted to say as a sex worker, we do need some place to live... just like anyone else with any other job. I have been renting a condo off S. Las Vegas Blvd for almost 4 years now. I've never been late on rent, made improvements to the place out of my own pocket (I wanted things like window treatments, nice paint) and I've never had any problems with any of the neighbors. They have no idea what I do for a living and I make an effort to avoid any sort of situation that could call attention to me or any guests (clients or others). I'm not on drugs, don't have loud parties and like to stay on good terms with everyone, so I think I'm actually one of the friendlier neighbors in the building. Things have been this way for four years with no signs of any disastrous changes.

The friends I have who also do this sort of work are much like me. I think that there are those who come with baggage and drama but thats true for any tenants. Its unfortunate, but you never hear of the escort who is happy, successful and lives a quiet life. You only notice those who draw attention to themselves because they are strung out, or have a string of men in and out or party all the time. There are plenty of us low profiles types out there who realize the less attention we draw the better seeing that what we are doing is illegal and I think we make pretty good tenants because we make an effort NOT to be noticed. I try to be a good tenant because I see good reasons to be.

Why wouldn't you go work out at the brothels, then? I'm not judging you, I'm just wondering why someone who is level headed and responsible like yourself would risk being potentially involved with criminals rather than go the legal route? At the brothels, you'd have some security. Unless you are a man, in which case, I get it. No legal sex jobs for men at the brothels (that I know of).

I just can't imagine bringing a client like that to my home, but I guess a lot depends on your screening process. Stay safe!

Landlords can be held responsible for knowingly renting to people that engage in criminal activity, and in fact your insurance can be cancelled if there should be an incident resulting in a claim. Most landlords require proof of income, can they produce check stubs or W2s showing their income? I'd even be surprised if the IRS couldn't find a way to get your house from you
for your part in their tax evasion.

That makes no sense.. That's like the IRS trying to take your house away because you had a HUGE poker weekend at your house and soemone made $10,000 in the deal and did not report anything to the IRS....

Also how do you know they are doing it one on one.. How about they are on the internet doing this as Thousands of other people do from their home...

2 people renting a house can make a very good living on the internet.... They do not have to have ANYONE come to the residence....

Hel I would be more afraid to rent to college students because of the party and house trashing stigma they have....

The poster mentioned that he or she brought clients to the house, but kept a low profile. I didn't say anything about one on one and this conversation is starting to ick me out so - see ya.

Why work in the boonies and live in a double wide when you could live in the city and live in a normal house? She probably makes more and is not taxed on the income. If she works in the casinos, she is protected by the police from sexual assault and to a lesser extent, thievery. Just like everyone else in the valley, you can be involved with illegal activities as much or as little as you want. An illegal sex worker doesnt automatically mean she is involved with unsavory characters. You probably have shopped right next to one at whole foods. The fact that is illegal means she makes more money the she could at the legal brothels. Ask the "john" the same thing. Why dont all these guys just go to the legal brothels?

If she uses the house as a place to meet and 'entertain' clients, it's only a matter of time before neighbors figure it out. Different cars and different men every day? They'll assume either drugs or sex is being sold....maybe both. I can see in some neighborhoods people might look the other way, but it could also spur the "Gladys Kravitz" types to call the cops and file all sorts of complaints.

I wouldn't do it, cost are borderline criminals and are into other things like drugs and identity theft.

I doubt it! I drive many of these girls home from the strip and they usually look more like tourists than the tourists do...

So what's to report anyway? "I see her coming home all the time in her club dress!" WTF? Who cares?

Neighbors wouldn't know the difference between cocktail waitresses, dancers, showgirls or just party girls...Especially in THIS town!
