There are a number of 2-story housing neighborhoods that I see viewing google maps.

RHODES RANCH...is that one of them? Just trying to define what it is I'm seeing...there are also areas out in Henderson that are similar.

What is their story? Are they mostly from the same developer? Are they also up in the Northwest as well?

You may notice some neighborhoods that are exclusively single story, two story, or three story but you can basically find single and two story in any area, the three stories seem to be limited to newer developments. Many neighborhoods are a combination of single and two.

The "standard" neighborhood is mixed. Very high density neighborhoods are exclusively two or three story. There are single story exclusive in different price ranges.

YES!

Those are the ones I'm seeing on google maps - very high density of houses that are two (or three) story..

Here is an example of them:

las vegas, nv - Google Maps

Seems like I see them scattered about in clusters of neighborhoods. How are they perceived? With such close proximity to each other and the road, are there some crime issues above normal, or nothing more than anywhere else?

They do seem to exist in other places...where else are they? Who developed them, etc.

They are kinda interesting...

Jeez, that might as well be townhouses. They are narrow enough, but they just separated them to make them single family detatched.

There are a lot of neighborhoods here like that...it is nothing remarkable. Unless you go to a higher price point your average newer neighborhood typically looks like this. Usable yard space will cost you more. Crime rates typically have more to do with location than anything else. One thing to consider is many of these neighborhoods don't allow on the street parking so if you have guests they typically have to park in disignated parking lot and walk to you home if your driveway isn't long enough which is also pretty common.

Rhodes Ranch offers different types of homes from two story to one story, and is in the SW area, Rhodes homes only has some of his Harmony homes in the North and NW area's.
Rhodes had a 3 story community called Xit and it is sold out it was in the SW as well.
Rhodes Ranch's developer is Rhodes there is no other developer in there, he also built Red Rock Country Club and Tuscany in Henderson. He now has new communities called Harmony homes.

There are probably more two story homes than single story since they are cheaper to build and take up less lot. hope this was helpful

Very informative!

So, since the two story houses are cheaper to build and take up less space, does it make them cost less? Also, is the quality any less for it?

I like the general look to them.

It can cost less to purchase a two story over a single story, quality doesn't change whether you build a one story or a two story or a 3 story. Quality depends on the materials used, and the contractors work in general.

Single story homes usually need larger lots so that usually drives up the cost as well for a single story.
