I know Australia and New Zealand have work/travel visas for Americans that are good for a year. Do any other countries have something similar...where you can apply on your own before even securing a job?
And I am not talking about "teaching english abroad" type of rigs. But legit work visas....
Canada and OZ. Canada is easier, thanks to NAFTA visas, you only need a job offer to process one. On the other hand, OZ is farther and more expensive the relocation expenses.

Nope not Aus, NZ unless you have skills we need and are under forty five.
The USA is not in the Commonwealth so gets none of the Commonwealth breaks.
I doubt any country in the world has as easy immigration laws as does the USA which is why we have by far more legal and also illegal immigrants than any other nation.
You'd probably have to be willing to learn the language if you didn't already learn it before you immigrated, you'd have to be self-supporting, most other countries will not bring in immigrants who will live off their dole.
Most other countries protect their own citizens by having jobs go to them first.
Apart from the irrelevant "more illegal immigrants than any other nation" bit, can you substantiate a single other thing you said just there?
